My work is driven by existential and social anxiety- tapping into both tangible and intangible forces while blending influences from formalism and conceptual art. My subject matter is opaque, depicting abstract forms and textures reminiscent of decay, mold, or other biologically grotesque entities. I ask viewers to form their own connotations, but I hold the right to disagree. Form is taken upon a hybrid of painting, sculpture, and dematerialized work. Material studies, process, and technical application furthers the work. I sees my practice as a physical act, with a certain kind of anxiety and violence displayed through expression and gesture. I currently lack a clear affectation or intent but this continues to drive my work, in search of a greater philosophical meaning.
